Yesterday was Dierks Bentley. It was all day adventure for us. I'll try to make this as short as possible. lol
Kelly and I left for Fitchburg at 7am to pick up Meaghan. We had some things to do (ie: GET THE TICKETS THAT KELLY FORGOT lmao) before Hampton, so we came back to Quincy. Kelly and I were dead set on getting cowboy hats. But we couldn't find any. ]: It was disappointing. We got to Hampton Beach around 3:30.
Now, the last time I was at Hampton Beach, the place was a ghost town. This time you couldn't drive faster than 10 miles an hour down the streets because there were so many people. I knew it was a popular place, but I didn't know it was THIS popular. We walked around, goofed off and just hung out until about 4:30 when people started lining up. We were about the 10th people in line!
The doors opened at 6 and the opening act didn't go on until 8.
WE GOT FRONT ROW. It was torture, especially considering that the opening act was a bunch of old men trying to pass as a country act. They butchered "Folsom Prison Blues." If my dad heard it, he would have just walked out.
Dierks didn't come on until about 9. We. Almost. Died. It was so hot and humid in there that it was unhealthy. I don't think they have air conditioning at the Ballroom.
I wasn't expecting much from Dierks, to be completely honest. I figured, "Oh, he'll come out in a flannel shirt, tight jeans and cowboy boots, look cute for a while and sing a few songs." I was completely wrong. He put on one of the best shows I've ever seen. He was so into it and so into the fans. Dierks is what I imagined Taylor Hanson would be like if he was the guitar player, if that makes any sense to you at all. lol He was just -- awesome. Completely amazing. AND SO HOT IN PERSON.
